1. What is attar?

Attar (also spelled ittar) is a natural perfume oil derived from botanical sources such as flowers, woods, spices, and resins. Unlike conventional perfumes, attars are 100% alcohol-free and are applied directly to the skin. They are deeply rooted in Arabic and South Asian fragrance traditions.

2. Are your attars alcohol-free?

Yes! All Noor e Taj attars are 100% alcohol-free, making them halal, skin-friendly, and suitable for all skin types. They are pure perfume oils with no synthetic alcohol added.

3. How long do your attars last on the skin?

Our attars are highly concentrated perfume oils that typically last 6 to 12 hours on the skin, depending on your skin type and the fragrance. Oilier skin tends to hold attar longer. Applying to pulse points (wrists, neck, behind ears) helps maximize longevity.

4. How do I apply attar?

Simply tip the bottle gently and apply a small amount directly to your pulse points — wrists, neck, behind the ears, or inner elbows. A little goes a long way with our concentrated attar oils!

5. What sizes are available?

Most of our attars are available in 6ml and 12ml sizes. The 6ml is perfect for trying a new fragrance or for travel, while the 12ml offers better value for your favourite scent.

6. Are your attars suitable for both men and women?

Yes! Most of our attars are unisex and can be enjoyed by both men and women. Some fragrances like Karrar have a bolder, more masculine profile while others like Husn e Yousaf are more feminine — but ultimately fragrance is personal!

7. Can I use attar for prayers?

Absolutely! Since our attars are 100% alcohol-free, they are perfectly suitable for use during prayers (Salah). Many of our fragrances like Ghilaf e Kaaba and Harmain are specifically inspired by spiritual occasions.
